The Power of Keywords

When we search real estate sites like www.realestate.com.au or www.domain.com.au we provide various search criteria like maximum price, minimum baths, the property type like house or unit, and of course land size.

But how often do we consider using the keyword feature when searching (ie keywords that appear in the descriptions) ?

It turns out there is some real power in this approach, as sites like realestateinvestar and SQM have demonstrated, by using keywords extensively to identify potentially distressed or undervalue properties.

Here’s a few keywords you might consider using when searching:

distressed
divorce
desperate
deceased
sick
nortgagee
fire sale
overseas
make an offer
liquidation
liquidate
motivated
ill health
forced
below value
below valuation
Bargain
Bank says sell

bankrupt
vendor wants out
vendor says sell
vendor has purchased
vendor has bought
urgent
undervalue
submit all offers
slashed
sell now
reduced
priced to sell
price reduction
price reduced
owner must sell
massive reduction

I’m sure you can come up with more, but for now – these make a great starting point !
